Food is the major important part of our lives. Without food, we cannot live. Food is the substance which provides nutritional support for an organism. It contains essentials nutrient like carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins or minerals. It is usually of plant or animal origin. Foods are rich in protein such as meat, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products, dairy products, nuts, beans, pea, and cereals. These are the things which give you energy or help in building up your body as you grow. Food is more than things we eat, far more than just what we love to eat.

The nutrients like fatty acids, amino acids and other substances that your body needs to function, survive and thrive is mostly obtained from the food we eat drink or supplement in the diet.

Food is the source of energy for all of our bodily functions and directly affects how our bodies and minds function at every stage of life. A body will not be able to function if one or two nutrients are missing. Eating food can be termed as the consumption of food and liquid to sustain life and to meet our body’s basic needs for growth and development. A healthy and balanced diet provides foods in the right amounts and combinations that are safe and free from disease and harmful substances. Protein is needed to build, maintain and repair muscle, blood, skin and bones and other tissues and organs in the body. Carbohydrate helps the body to maintain the source of energy now carbohydrates have two kind starches and sugars. Starches include rice, maize, wheat and potatoes and sugars include fruit, honey, sweets, and chocolates. Fats contain oils, butter, milk, cheese and some meat. Vitamins and minerals are needed in very small amount but are very important for good health. The helps in functioning and processes in the body and also helps in building the body tissues such as bones calcium and blood iron.
