What is Diabetes: Define, Symptoms, Causes & Types

Diabetes is the disease in which the blood sugar and blood glucose are very high. Blood glucose is the main source of the energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin is the hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. Sometimes your body doesn’t make enough or any insulin or doesn’t use insulin well. Glucose then stays in your blood and doesn’t reach your cells. Over time, having too much glucose in your blood can cause health problems. People say having too much glucose in your blood can cause the health problem.  People call diabetes as a touch of sugar or borderline diabetes this means a person having too much diabetes or less diabetes but every case of diabetes is serious.

  • Increasing in thirst and urination.
  • Hungriness
  • Fatigues
  • Eye vision blurred
  • Not healing sores
  • Numbness or itch in feet or hands.

Type 1, diabetes develops when the immune system of the body is fighting the infection and start attacking and destroying the insulin which produces beta cells of the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is the very common diabetes which is caused by varies factors which include lifestyle factors and genes. Gestational diabetes takes place during the pregnancy which is caused by the hormonal changes of pregnancy along with genetic and lifestyle changes.

There are two types of diabetes as follows:

  • 1st type of diabetes:

Type 1, diabetes is usually found in children and adults as it may be at any age. In this type, the body does not make insulin. The immune system attacks and destroys the cell in your pancreas that makes insulin. People with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin every day to stay alive.

  • 2 type of diabetes:

2 type of diabetes

This type of diabetes occurs at any age, even in childhood but it occurs mostly in the middle-aged and older people. This type is the most common diabetes. In this, your body does not make or use insulin well.

 

  • Gestational diabetes:

Gestational diabetes

 If you have gestational diabetes, there are greater chances of having type 2, diabetes later in life. This type develops in some women during the pregnancy but it can go away once the baby is born. Sometimes diagnosed during pregnancy is actually type 2 diabetes.

Fiber can help you more in reducing the risk of diabetes by improving your blood sugar control, by lowering your risk of heart diseases and it promotes the weight loss by making you feel full.

 

  1. Eat whole grains:

Try having half of your whole grains many foods of whole grains comes ready to eat which includes various bread pasta and cereals. This whole grain food will help you in reducing the risk of diabetes and helps in maintaining blood sugar levels.
